Why shares here

The names you know, long or short

Trade the world's most-followed companies as CFDs, with fractional sizing, short access, and corporate actions handled for you.

  • Spreads from 0.02%

Share CFDs quoted at exchange prices plus a published markup. The all-in cost is shown before you commit.

  • Household names, both directions

Apple, Tesla, NVIDIA and the rest of the mega-caps, tradeable long or short from the same ticket.

  • Corporate actions handled

Dividends, splits, and ticker changes are adjusted on your position automatically and itemised on your statement.

  • An auditable method

Markups, dividend adjustments, and borrow costs for shorts are documented in the Markets Method, line by line.

Corporate actions

The corporate actions calendar

A share CFD lives on the company's calendar. Results land four times a year and re-price the book at the open; ex-dividend dates lift cash out of the price. The next thirteen weeks of both, drawn to scale.

TSLA · AMZNNo dividendGrowth names pay no cash dividend. Nothing is credited or debited on an ex-date; the whole return lives in the price.

  • Results usually land outside cash hours. The price re-opens wherever the venue book re-opens. Orders resting through the gap fill at the post-gap price, not the last pre-gap quote, and a share CFD carries no protection against the gap itself.
  • On the ex-date the share opens lower by the dividend. CFD tickets are made whole: long positions are credited the adjustment, short positions are debited. The drop itself is never P&L.
  • Splits, spin-offs and special dividends are adjusted on the ex-date, never on the announcement. Price and position size change together, so the action itself is not profit or loss.

The sector map

Concentration you can see

Twelve names in three sleeves. Deal the basket across US tech mega-caps, EU quality and Asia chips. Every block on the map re-draws to its true share, and the board scores how much of the basket one name can decide.

Seven names that often trade like one weather system: when one moves, the sleeve moves.

Curated 30-day range · one hot name vs the blend

TSLA alone±18.0%
This blend±9.6%

A weighted blend before any correlation credit. A real basket of partly offsetting names typically moves less than this.

The concentrated holder

Hold TSLA alone and its curated range says a typical month spans about ±18.0%. One earnings night can be most of that.

The diversified holder

Hold the blend above and the same month spans about ±9.6% across 12 names. No single print decides it.

The mix now reads as spread out on the concentration score.

The score is a Herfindahl–Hirschman index on single-name weights, the same arithmetic competition authorities apply to market shares. Below 1,500 reads as spread out; above 2,500 as concentrated.

A regional sleeve is not automatic diversification. Two chip foundries can be a bigger single-name bet than seven mega-caps. Each ticket simply carries more of the sleeve.

Shares primer·6 short cards

What a CFD on stock is

A share CFD mirrors the price of the underlying equity without conveying ownership. Your P&L follows the price; you don't get voting rights, and dividends pass through as cash adjustments.

Earnings risk

Single-name shares can gap on earnings releases. Position sizes that look safe in normal vol can be unsurvivable in a 10% overnight move. The corporate actions calendar on this page draws the next quarter's results windows to scale.

Dividend adjustments

On ex-dividend dates, long CFD holders are credited a dividend adjustment and short holders are debited one; withholding treatment varies by account, so the long credit can be less than the gross amount shown. The share price drops by the dividend amount on the open. The dividend & borrow ledger on this page itemises the flows for a worked ticket.

Sector correlations

Stocks in the same sector move together more than across sectors. A surprise in one mega-cap often leads the rest of the cluster, which matters for sizing and hedging. The constellation map in the hero draws these clusters; the sector map above scores what they do to basket concentration.

Cash session vs after-hours

Most CFDs trade in the home session window only (6.5h US, 8h EU, 6h Asia). Outside that window, the order book thins and the spread widens.

Corporate actions

Splits, spin-offs, mergers, and special dividends are reflected in CFD price and position size. We adjust on the ex-date; never on the announcement date. Upcoming dates sit on the corporate actions calendar above.

FAQ·6 questions

  • How much leverage do share CFDs get?

Retail share CFDs are commonly capped at 1:5. That still multiplies exposure five-fold; the calculators show the margin a position actually consumes before you place it.

  • When can I trade share CFDs?

During the underlying exchange's cash session, roughly 6.5 hours for US names (14:30–21:00 UTC in winter). Quotes freeze outside those hours; pending orders queue for the open.

  • What happens on dividend day?

Long CFD positions are credited the dividend equivalent and shorts are debited, on the ex-date, itemised on your statement. The share price's ex-dividend drop nets against the adjustment.

  • What happens around earnings and corporate actions?

Results usually land outside cash hours, so the price can gap straight to the re-open. The corporate actions calendar on this page maps the next thirteen weeks of results windows and ex-dividend dates. Splits, spin-offs and special dividends adjust price and position size together on the ex-date, never on the announcement.

  • Why do short share CFDs pay a borrow fee?

The hedge behind a short CFD borrows real stock in the securities-lending market, and that loan has a price. For easy-to-borrow large caps it is a small annual band, itemised next to financing in the dividend & borrow ledger on this page, but it is quoted per name and can spike when a stock turns hard to borrow.

  • What's the minimum position?

Share CFDs trade from a fraction of one share, so you can hold a few hundred dollars of a four-figure stock. Exact minimums per name are shown in the platform.

Holding costs

The dividend & borrow ledger

Close a share CFD intraday and you pay the spread once. Hold it overnight and two more flows can start: financing on the notional you carry, and on the short side a fee for borrowing the stock. Dividends add one more entry on a single day, the ex-date. All of it is arithmetic, not mystery. The ledger below itemises every line.

The financing leg

A share CFD funds in its listing currency: US names off SOFR, euro-area names off €STR, Japanese names off TONA. Long positions pay the benchmark plus our 2.5% annual markup; short positions receive the benchmark minus the markup, which can flip negative when rates are low.

Positive values are credited to the account; negative values are debited. Financing and the borrow fee accrue on the full notional, not on your margin. The dividend entry books once, on the ex-date, and only if the position holds through it. The long credit is before any applicable withholding.
